On
Loving You
Loving
you is a high
that
I am overcome with
every
morning
every
night
as
I inhale your smile
each
thought touches
the
contour of my heart
making
each beat race
to
the beginning of its start
I
only exhale to inhale
the
togetherness that feeds
our
famished affections
the
creativity that hides
love's
honest imperfections
but
still we rise
‘fumed
by a love so strong
we
do not brand it in tattoos
or
corny love songs
instead
we write to express
our
different love forms
in
phrases read backwards
upside
down and side ways
communicating
on a higher surface
that
all we can do is be grateful
that
we remain faithful and able
seeing
God's perfect grace
reflected
in each other's face.
