MY
TRIP TO D.C. : NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP FORUM
ON LAW
By
Ginnie O
I
was privileged to be among 350 outstanding high
school students who were invited to Washington D.C.,
to attend NYLF Law, a program that brings high school
students from across the world who are interested
in the field of law. It is a 6 day program in which
I received an in-depth introduction to the legal
profession through direct contact with preeminent
law professors, students, partners and associates.
I also culminated in an exciting simulation where
my peers and I took on roles of attorneys and justices
to review judicial issues, argue positions and make
decisions on actual Supreme Court cases. We also
visited Capitol Hill, Georgetown University, National
Art Museum, a real life court session, a law firm
and so much more.
This
was one of the best experiences of my life, because
I made friends with professionals and students,
saw the world of law in a perspective unlike anyone,
and most importantly gained a valuable head
start toward the career and success I dream
of achieving.
