Drew-- Well currently I am not a very strong Christian, but haven grown up in a Christian household where I was complied to read the entire New Testament and some of the Old Testament, I can’t help but speak my discontent at what seem to be an attempt by the western world to modernize Christianity I mean now the Anglican church has not approved a gay bishop, women don’t cover their hair to church anymore and yesterday on CBS or ABC they claimed Jesus was married to marry Mary Madeline. What your take on any of this issues, would you go to a church with gay bishop ??

babyprincess-- Come are you deeper life or something??? why should women cover their heads at church? But the Episcopalian sect of the Anglican church is dead wrong, aniwes I think because of the large contradictions that religion has, alot of people are turned off from Christianity. I think that's why if you call yourself a Christian ( little Christ) you should maintain a relationship with God and be more like Christ, regardless of the little fads that come and go out of our churches, that's what's most important

Chikito--First of all I would like to say that I am totally outraged with the way the western world is scrutinizing religion. To me it looks as if they are doing it from a passive point of view. I did not appreciate that ABC broadcast about Jesus. Leave well enough alone. It is hard bringing brothers and sisters to believe in the word without them adding mystery to history and disbelief. Secondly, wrapping hair to church etc. is no where in the bible so young man don't go over board with it. Lastly, as for a gay bishop....WHAT F#$&ING OUTRAGE. That was really annoying and I would not be in church the day that bishop comes. Also, I think the contradiction comes from people misinterpreting the word of the bible or doing things that are against the way an effective Christian should be all in the name of God. Now that's what gets me about some Christians.

Drew-- Yes I was a member of deeper life but that aside it clearly states that in the bible for a woman to cover her hair in the presents of the lord

Chikito --please can you quote where in the bible it says that a woman should cover her hair to go to church? What is deeper life?

Babyprincess --Bible verse please???.... Choi I remember once my mom took me to some deeper life thing in Naija and I was probably six or seven come and see how the ushers tried to cover my head with their diry handkerchiefs... I think not.
Religion is such a problem for me honestly...

Mekus--I am a drop out Seminarian. I wanted to become a priest when I was in Nigeria, but when I landed for Yankee I changed my mind because of the way the church is heading to. I am still a strong xtian and I make sure I attain church every Sunday, but I am doing it for my soul and not for my priest, the pope, or the church. So, yes Christianity is in a downhill slope at this moment but my faith is still strong in Christ. Even if Pope becomes a gay guy, I would not loss my hope..

Drew --1Cor. 11:3-16 11:5 But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with [her] head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven

Chikito--wow...my NIV version says it in verse 6. I should bring this up in my bible class today. Thanks for bringing this to my awareness

Styles--DREW...this is a great topic...i've been saying this all along...Churches are reducing themselves to common nonentities by following the laws of Men over the Laws of GOD...And this came to be because of money.... Can you belief in EUROPE...They are sponsoring 4 Christian scholars to go and study that JESUS was GAY...our very own JESUS...this is unbelievable... They've already installed the first GAY BISHOP...and working on sanctioning of GAY UNION... I will be back later on this topic...can't say much for now...work

Khamileon --THE JESUS THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE IN THE BIBLE PERIOD! THE ONE IN THE BIBLE CREATED THE WORLD ALONG WITH THE FATHER. HE CAME INTO THIS WORLD TO REDEEM MAN, SINCE THE FIRST ADAM FELL. THIS IS NECESSARY BECAUSE THE WORLD AND UNIVERSE OPERATE WITH LAWS… THOUGH CHRIST CAME TO LIVE AND EXPERIENCE WHAT IT IS TO BE A MAN, HE IS STILL DEVINE. HE IS STILL THE CREATOR OF THIS WORLD. SO, HE DOES NOT NEED A WIFE OR WOMAN CAUSE THAT’S NOT HIS PURPOSE OF COMING TO THIS WORLD. HIS SOLE PURPOSE IS TO REGAIN MAN’S FREEDOM (LOST BY ADAM) AND HE DID THAT AT CALVARY.. SO ALL THE RUBBISH THEY ARE SAYING IS NOT ABOUT THE SAME JESUS CHRIST IN THE BIBLE. THOSE IDIOTS DON’T CARE TO READ OR UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE; THEY JUST TALK TO MAKE THEMSELVES FEEL GOOD. YET EVERYTHING THAT IS HAPPENING TODAY IS TO FULFILL THE PROPHESY IN THE BIBLE.
