Nigerian Entertainment BEST MUSIC VIDEOS of the week

NO 5 – POST MALONE – WHITE IVERSON

Post Malone dropped the visuals to his single White Iverson a few months back and it still high up there as one of my video picks. The video is quite simple and visually artistic. The artiste Post Malone features in the video with one other person. The story line of the video centers around a lone person in the desert with a Rolls Royce driving loops around him. I like the simplicity of the video because it does not take attention away from the audio. I love how the video ends, a bit of grime and a lot of art. White Iverson by Post Malone is a nice mellow song and my number 5 pick for best music videos of the week.

NO 4 – OLAMIDE – MVP

Olamide recently dropped the video for his song MVP. MVP is a bit more laid back than the usual Olamide style. What I love about this video is that Olamide proves he can be street and versatile at the same time. It is a conceptually neat video with a lot of playfulness. There is a bit.. ok a lot of semi-nudity in the video but it doesn’t take away from the quality. It did have a lot of jaw dropping moments like when he picked up the underwear clad girl.. oh my! The song is mellow so the video brings some life to it visually.. Sidenote: I like seeing Olamide in a suit. Very GQ!. MVP by Olamide is my number 4 pick for best music videos of the week.

NO 3 – TRAVIS SCOTT – ANTIDOTE

I am gradually warming up to Travis Scott as an artiste. Forget that I still can’t picture him dating Rihanna. His song Antidote is one of my favorite 2015 songs. It is quite lit. The video has a dark feel to it and Travis Scott doesn’t show much of his face. I’m guessing being ambiguous is his thing. Just like Post Malone, Travis Scott keeps it simple. He also uses a lot of himself as the main subject in the video. Unlike Post Malone, he incorporates other people and colors into his video. The video has a somewhat weird circus theme. Antidote is a good song and it is nice to see an equally good video accompany it. Antidote comes in as my Number 3 pick for best music videos of the week.

NO 2 – FUTURE –

Future did not get the tag “King of Trap music” for nothing. He makes raunchiness sound so good. Future is that one artist that will bring out the naughty in any good girl via his lyrics. If you have not seen the controversial video to rich sex by now, well I am here to help. The video was the subject of wagging tongues because of a rumoured real life relationship with the leading lady – Blac Chyna. Dating or not, it is a very good clean video. It is also very risqué with a capital R. Futures Rich sex is my number 2 pick for best music videos of the week.

NO 1 – CHRIS BROWN – FINE BY ME

C Breezy never disappoints when it comes to his videos. Good clean fun and always conceptually well thought of. I like how he tells a story with the visuals. Let’s forget for a second that Chris Brown is super hot. The video starts of with Chris Brown and his associates chit chatting by the store. He leaves them only to be lured by a mysterious lady up a stairwell into some magical video game-esque room. I call it a magical room because of how the instrumentation comes in at the point where he enters the room, plus watching Chris Brown dance-fight was magical (lol).  I like how it had a video game feel to it. Reminded me a lot of my Mortal Kombat playing days. Very creative!. A good video to accompany a good song. Fine by me by Chris Brown is my Number 1 Pick for best music videos of the week.
