When I heard I had to compile some top 5 lists, I was suddenly taken back to sometime in the last decade when my mother thought LL Cool J was MC Hammer. In fact, it got to the point where she thought every single rapper was either MC Hammer or Shabba Ranks. Back then, I was thoroughly confused as to how she could be so out of touch but after being faced with the daunting task of naming my top 5 in a few categories, I finally got it; yep, I am old. I have become one of those people who keeps griping about how "today's music sucks." I am living so far back in the past that my Ipod would have been filled with 90s music… if I owned one. As it stands, I still feel pretty hip schlepping my Discman around. If I'd been asked to come up with my top 10 list of anything released in 1995, I would have so killed it. But since I wasn't, I am grateful that I only have to come up with 5 in 2005, otherwise, I would have had to hand in my resignation letter.
